Hello, I'm Jimmy Allen, owner of Allen InkWorks. I'm a retired police officer and a retired Veteran (US Army). I love making pens and I've been doing so for almost ten years now. How it’s Made
How This Pen Was Made:
Each pen begins with a custom resin blank, where vibrant colors and metallic accents are mixed to create a one-of-a-kind blank. After the resin fully cures, the blank is cut to size and mounted onto a lathe.
Using precision tools, the blank is carefully turned down by hand to reveal the unique swirls and patterns hidden inside. Once the shape is perfected, the pen body is sanded through multiple stages — starting with coarse grit for shaping, all the way up to fine polishing to create a smooth, glass-like finish.
Finally, the hardware — in this case, a durable bolt-action mechanism with rugged knurled details — is assembled with the polished body to complete the pen. Every step is done by hand to ensure quality, balance, and a comfortable writing experience.
The result: a functional piece of art, built to be used every day and admired for a lifetime.
Shop Policies
Shipping: Orders typically ship in 3–5 business days. All pens are carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery. Tracking information will be provided once the item ships
Warranty: 30-day craftsmanship guarantee. If your pen has a mechanical issue within 30 days, please contact us for a repair or replacement. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or misuse are not covered.
Custom Orders and Commissions: Welcomed — extra time may apply.
Product Care: Avoid exposing your pen to extreme temperatures, moisture, or harsh chemicals to preserve its finish.
